Carnatic violin virtuoso, vocalist, and musical pioneer L. Shankar is joined by percussionists Selvaganesh Vinayakram and Amit Kavthekar for a night of enthralling East-West music. Building on his time in the international group Shakti, Shankar fuses the past and present with his innovative stereophonic double violin, heard on collaborations with Phil Collins, Talking Heads, Madonna, and more. The trio presents ragas with extended improvisation, intricate rhythmic interplay, and the kind of focused listening that defines Indian musical performance at its highest level.
