String masters Derek Gripper and Alam Khan join forces for a night of cross-cultural musical collaboration. South African guitarist Gripper maps the technique and artistry of the 21-string African kora harp onto classical guitar, while Indian sarod virtuoso Khan—son of Hindustani classical music expert Ustad Ali Akbar Khan—showcases his mastery of raga improvisation. Together, they explore the heights of spontaneous creation, reimagining African and Indian melodies in a harmonious meeting of plucked strings.
