Together, as the Rao Trio, they move effortlessly from Bach to Bhupali — Western classical form meeting Hindustani raga in the same breath. And they continue to create new work — their latest piece, “Triveni,” meaning the meeting of three rivers — a fitting name for three instruments, three traditions, and one bloodline, converging into a single sound.
Joined on tabla by Amit Kavthekar, we look forward to seeing how these performers, each skilled and honored in their respective instrument, come together to transport us through time and space.
